June 15, 2009 Northeastern TX Panhandle Supercells
I got back from a camping trip from CO about 1pm this day, but knew there was a good chase day ahead. I packed quickly and hit the road for Canadian, TX. A good storm was in progress to our north as we made it to Canadian. It was an incredibly ripped LP supercell about 20 miles north of town. We quickly got gas and went to intercept. It weakened shortly after reaching it, but had a tornado reported with it that I cant confirm.
The 2nd storm was more impressive to me. It fired back off the retreating dryline and moved NE of the Perryton area. I set up on the TX/OK border and let it pass right by me. I was able to set in one spot for over an hour and watch the whole storm rotate by me.
