Show Review
Once 'Sprits High' was released, I was hoping for a random one-off Hollywood show. Even if it was an acoustic show in a coffee shop we would have gone. Needless to say the seond tickets went on sale, we bought a pair. Had a stash of airline/hotel points. Even stayed in Hollywood for the first time, though we visit LA frequently.
There was literally nothing to complain about with this show. The fact the Exies were the first band up with and 8:30 start time was amazing. I wish that was the norm. The Viper Room is an interesting venue, but given the history of the venue especially with the important to the Exies. It was the right call. I didnt intend to get on the front, but once we saw space open on the front it was a no-brainer. Being the tiny venue like it was, I didn have concern if the sound would be good. It was great and I was literally on top of Chris Skane amp on the right side of the stage.
The songs picked for the 1 hour set was a great mix of new and old. Only new song played was 'Spirits High'. Would love to see more of the new songs live, so here is to hoping for more Exies shows in the future. As some of us suspected, a few other muscians linked to Scott made it out to the show. The sidewalk outside the Viper Room was a real treat to someone from Amarillo, TX. It was fun to just stand there and take it all in.
I will probably add more pictures and details to this page as time allows.
