After storms decided not to fire on April 24, 2008, we drove a county over to Greensburg to see how the town was coming along a year after an 1.7 mile wide EF-5 tornado had swept through their town on the evening of May 4th, 2007. I had never visited Greensburg before so it was all new to me. That place still needs so much work. It was block after block of just emptiness. There were still many cement foundations, but even those were slowly being taken away. You dont realize what a tornado can do till you see a place like that in person. No picture can capture what it is like to see that place with your own eyes.
