We are definitely moving into winter as some of the first snows move across the TX Panhandle tonight, meaning the storm chances are officially done for atleast a few months. I am hoping to be able to chase most the major events next spring and will try and post here alot more often as we get into next March. I changed the layout around the website this evening and I will be going through every page making adjustments as I see fit. If you ever notice any typos and something that would make my website better just let me know. I am always looking to make the page the best I can. If I dont post here again for a while, I will see you in the spring. (Bring on the storms!)

The up coming system that should start to make it presence known on Thursday could be huge. There will be a large highly sheared environment that will be very unstable. There is not much more in a setup you could ask for than this other than cheaper gas cost. It doesnt help it is Memorial Weekend. The setup has quite a few similarities to that of may 4 of last year (Greensburg). Right now I am actually considering a target from Woodward to the Greensburg area, mostly because I dont want to drive on to the northern target. I am going to go where ever I have to though to see a storm come Thursday. I will try and run a webcam but have not had much luck so far this year, but if I go to KS I should be in EVDO coverage and have much better luck if I try to stream or even just do JPEG images every second (better quality). I will try to update as my forecast becomes more clear, until your within 24 hrs, nothing really matters. Expect big things thursday, big rotating things.

Tomorrow is looking like a possibly very active tornado day across OK. Wind shear looks great and the only real question is moisture, but I believe enough moisture will be returned for some decent tornadoes to come down. I will very likely be chasing and I will be testing out Ustream as my new chase cam option. I will try to have it up an running as much as possible through out the day.

I will be running my webcam for the first time during my chase tomorrow and hopefully the webcam will see its first tornado along with my first of the year. Tomorrow looks like it could be quite successful if the storms fire before dark. Should be a fun chase in OK tomorrow. It has been 4 years since I have seen a tornado in OK, so that would be a nice streak to end.

I have been adding new features and content pretty regularly over the past few months. The biggest addition is of my live chase cam. I have not field tested it yet, but I believe I know how to make it work. I have it working in the apartment, but I need to try it out on the road with my Alltel internet. The day before my next chase I will take it for a test run and try to work out any IP address/ HTML issues so it will run smoothly.

Thursday and Friday may be the next opportunity to set out on the plains in search of some twisters. Chances are not that great currently, but I defintely will never pass up an OK chase if there is some potential. Will post further forecast as we reach midweek and get closer to the possible event.

As the chase season gets in to full swing I will begin to post here more often about severe weather setups and if I chased I will post my prelim report here before I make a page for that specific day. Late this weekend another storm system will march into the Plains. Only day I can chase is Sunday, but chances are the day will be a no-show, but I will be ready to go if it does fire. The image is of the forecasted dew points for that evening. I am not expecting much from it even if a storm does fire. I just want a storm at this point. As we get closer to the actual day, I will post more about this setup.
